FARM organizes demonstrations, outreach, and events to raise awareness about the treatment of farm animals. Since 1983, its members have recognized October 2 as WDFA, the day each year when members become the voice for abused animals.
One of FARM’s main strategies is leafleting. Members order brochures to distribute to those living in their area. These brochures feature information about the conditions on industrial farms. FARM gives participants suggestions for effective distribution, such as what locations are highly populated and what type of people are likely to respond.
The organization also helps team up newcomers with experienced activists. Distributions are incentivized by FARM with gift cards to vegan businesses and complimentary activism supplies. In 2015, the group reached 320,000 people in six countries in one leafleting campaign alone.
FARM also provides comprehensive information about vegan diets and vegan recipes on its website.
